Agenda: approved with the addition of a Report from Foth & Van Dyke regarding approved
resolution to apply for Smart Growth Grant (resolution 4-2006) with a motion from John
Kraus, Jr., seconded by Carole Garczynski

Minutes from the August 8, 2006 Board Meeting were approved as corrected with the
Treasurers Report amount to be $240,320.79 with a motion from John Kraus, Jr., seconded
by Carole Garczynski. Minutes from the August 8, 2006 Special Meeting were approved with
the name correction of Fenske with a motion from John Kirchberg, seconded by John Kraus,
Jr.
Treasurers Report: The Treasurers Report for $209,898.92, which includes the $100,000.00
in a Certificate of Deposit until November 8, 2006, was approved as presented with a
motion from John Kirchberg, seconded by Carole Garczynski, a full report is on file.
Floor was opened for questions or comments on Non-agenda items:
The Lepsig 4-H Group presented to the Town of Calamus a framed State of Wisconsin map
for the town hall as a thank you for allowing them to use the town hall for their meetings.
Agenda:
Discussion/Decision with Wendorf Enterprises, Inc. Regarding Mobile Home Park Issues and
Inspection Policies: Mobile Home Park Owner/Operator John Wendorf asked the board to
consider lowering the fee to have the mobile homes inspected prior to sale within the park.
He continued that other parks don’t have inspections, but admitted that other parks are
“nicer”. Chairman Kirchberg stated that the inspections are to be performed prior to new
tenants moving into the mobile homes. John Wendorf stated that often the first call he
receives is after they had moved in. It was approved with a motion from John Kraus, Jr.,
seconded by John Kirchberg, carried by voice vote to change the fee to $75.00 if the
inspection is performed before the tenant moves in, and it will stay at the $150.00 if the
inspection is after the new tenants have moved in, and to allow Joe Wendorf to handle to
re-inspections to be sure that the problems found on the original inspection are corrected.
Board will amend the fee schedule at the October Board Meeting.
Resolution 4-2006 on Grant Application With Foth & Van Dyke for Smart Growth
Comprehensive Plan: John Kirchberg stated that Foth & Van Dyke informed him that the
two other municipalities that we were going to apply with for the Smart Growth Grant have
decided to wait until next year. Clerk is to check with Dodge County and the City of Beaver
Dam if it was possible for us to jump on board with them. Otherwise it would be $20,000
with the grant or a cost of $15,000.00 without the grant- to do our plan alone.
Discussion on Beginning Procedures to Abandon Braker Road: Braker Road is the only road
remaining in the town that serves only one owner. A motion was made by John Kraus, Jr.,
seconded by John Kirchberg, carried on voice vote to proceed with the discontinuance of
Braker Road. Clerk is to research procedure
Annual Review of Snowplow Letter and Fee: Chairman Kirchberg added that it was
necessary for a resident to call for plowing if they are not on a town road. A motion was
made by John Kirchberg, seconded by Carole Garczynski to increase the amount for five
plowing to $125.00/ or $25.00 per plowing. Call of votes: John Kraus, Jr. no, Carole
Garczynski aye, John Kirchberg aye, motion carried.
Annual Review of Employee Wages:
After discussion, a motion was made by John Kraus, Jr. seconded by Carole Garczynski and
approved on voice vote the wages for the following payroll items, effective October 1, 2006:
Town Hall Manager, annual $325.00
Town Hall Cleaning, hourly $ 13.00
Truck Washing, hourly $ 13.00
Winter Highway Wages $ 18.00
Summer Highway Wages $ 16.00
